Having Gardner Homes build our custom house was the best decision we could have made. They were so amazing about responding to our questions so quickly and being so patient at the same time. I have learned from several friends that this type of communication is not very common with most builders. Matt Gardner went above and beyond to make sure we were getting exactly what we asked for, even when we made changes along the way. He holds true to a quality built home with fine detail and a lot of character. Matt is also very particular about the weather-related conditions for construction, in order to be sure that we'd have the quality and strength of a home that every home-owner deserves and one that he'd proudly stand behind. We couldn't be happier with our home and would highly recommend him!

As you are looking to build or buy a home, I would strongly encourage you to consider Gardner Homes. A little over a year ago, we found ourselves relocating to the Des Moines area, which required us to begin the hunt for a new home. As we looked for homes in our price range, we began to get discouraged, as we could not find what we were looking for. Luckily, as we were about to settle on a home that we were not truly satisfied with, we walked into a Gardner Home and knew we had finally found what we were looking for. While that home had gone under contract, we were able to meet with Matt Gardner, who told us he would gladly build us a similar home within our timeline.

The process with Matt, Jimmy, and Nikki was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. They were always willing to explain how the process worked, outline what we needed to do for them and by when, as well as listen to our questions and concerns, always responding in a timely manner and with professionalism.

We feel that Gardner Homes puts great thought, effort, and quality into their homes. The attention to detail (solid wood doors, crown molding on the kitchen cabinets, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances) set Gardner Homes apart from other builders at this price point.

My wife Ann and I moved to Ankeny in the summer of 2006. We made several trips to Ankeny on weekends and never really found what we were looking for in a price range we felt comfortable with. One day, we walked into a Gardner Home on NW 25th Street and fell in love with the house. Unfortunately, that house just went under contract the week before, but in true Gardner fashion, Matt committed to us that he could have a similar house built for us in our strict timeframe. We could tell instantly that Gardner Homes provided the exact combination of features we were looking for in a price range we felt comfortable with.

Having known Matt for about a year now, we know we made the right decision for three reasons.

First is the quality of the home that Matt built for us. We can tell that the little touches that represent a quality house are not overlooked. Not only that, but if something is not right, or to our liking Matt is more than willing to make it right.

Secondly, is the customer focused approach Gardner Homes takes in building a home. Matt realizes that building a home is a very personal issue and does his best to make sure all details that potential home buyers are looking for are addressed. Ann and I made several changes to the standard floor plan during construction. Matt took all of those in stride and said to us many times "Whatever you guys want, we can make it work".

Lastly, is the level of follow up that both Matt and Jimmy provide. Gardner Homes is committed to making sure that customers are happy with everything in their home. That includes issues that are not related to the contractor. A great example is during a recent snow storm, I was out of town and could not be home to clean off the driveway. In speaking with Matt on the phone, he took it upon himself to line up an acquaintance with a snow plow to come take care of our driveway. It is not often that you find that kind of service after the sale.
